Valley-Wide Health Systems is a Community Health Center that provides the full scope of primary Medical and Dental services across the lower third of Colorado. Alamosa is home to Adams State College and the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The full range of outdoor activities expected in Colorado are abundant and easily accessible in this beautiful high mountain valley surrounded by 14,000 foot peaks.

There are three AEGD residency clinic sites located in the San Luis Valley, with Alamosa being the Valley-Wide’s company headquarters. Residents rotate to the three sites Alamosa, Center and LaJara. Each have different attending faculty and a different patient population, which gives the resident a broad experience. Faculty specialties include those trained in Oral Facial Pain/TMD, Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Geriatrics and Oncology. Residents become proficient in all phases of General Dentistry, in modern facilities, with a great balance between pediatrics, adolescents and adults.

Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc., a community/migrant health center, is a private non-profit corporation governed by a volunteer community board. It has thirteen primary health care delivery sites strategically located throughout southern Colorado. These full-service clinics are joined by five dental clinics and a milieu of ancillary health services to address the needs of our patient population.

Marillac Clinic

Profile

Marillac is a community clinic providing high quality health care to uninsured Mesa County residents with low and moderate incomes.

Sponsored by Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health Systems, Marillac was founded by a group of dedicated healthcare professionals and community leaders in 1988. Over the years, the Clinic has grown into the strong and diverse organization it is today, serving thousands of Mesa County residents every year.

Marillac Clinic offers a wide range of health care services, including: Medical, Dental, Optical, Medications, MAP Program, and Integrated Mental Health Care. While Marillac is not a free clinic, it is designed to serve low and moderate income, uninsured and underinsured individuals and families, who pay a portion of the cost of their care. A sliding scale fee structure makes access to quality health care affordable for those who otherwise would have nowhere to turn.

Marillac Dental Clinic is dedicated to helping the whole family enjoy the benefits of good oral health. More and more studies indicate that good dental health plays a key role in overall health, staying healthy and pain-free.

NEW PEDIATRIC DENTIST ON STAFF TO HELP OUR YOUNGEST PATIENTS!

Mesa County children eligible for Medicaid and CHP+ and are treated at no charge for covered services. Other services are available on a sliding scale basis.

Our dental professionals are trained in the care of very young children, so you can be assured that your child will be treated in a way that makes their visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible. In July 2008, we welcomed Dr. Warren-Hart, pediatric dentist, to the staff. She will be able to provide comprehensive dental care to our youngest patients — both at the clinic, and if needed, in the hospital.

Marillac has screened thousands of school-age children over the last several years in an effort to help our youngest citizens learn good oral health care habits and to diagnose and treat problems as early as possible.

Dental Care For the Whole Family

Don’t let a tight budget keep you and your family from getting the care you need. We provide a full range of dental services for the whole family on a sliding scale. Special Needs Patients

Mentally and physically challenged patients are welcome at the clinic. HIV and AIDS patients are also treated at the Dental Clinic. Learn more about this program at WestCAP.

Pregnant Women Need Extra Care

Special programs are available for pregnant women. Pregnancy is such a special time. There are things pregnant women should do to assure their baby is born strong and healthy. Studies show that gingivitis (an early stage of gum disease) can contribute to early delivery and low birth weight in newborns. Marillac can help right now.

Special Services at the Dental Clinic for Seniors

The Marillac Dental Clinic is currently seeing seniors who qualify for the Colorado Old-Age Pension Program. Dental services for seniors include: dentures, extractions, fillings, x-rays and routine dental care.
